When a woman arrives, often with nothing but the clothes on her back, we provide immediate safety, medical attention, and a private, secure room.

We provide three nutritious meals a day and a dedicated case manager who helps her navigate legal protection orders and emergency social services.

She stabilizes, then she plans
Once the crisis passes, she works with our team to find permanent housing or enter our career training. Safety is the first step to independence.

Common questions about how we protect survivors and how your security-focused donation is utilized.
Security is our baseline. Our address is never published, and we utilize a strict 24/7 surveillance system, high-security gate access, and anonymous intake procedures. All staff and visitors undergo background checks, and digital safety protocols are in place to prevent location tracking for every woman who enters.
Your sponsorship covers the physical upkeep, utilities, fresh linens, and essential supplies for that specific space. It also contributes to the 24-hour staffing required to ensure that room remains a safe haven for the woman or family currently occupying it.
Yes. Suzy's Place is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All monetary contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by US law. You'll receive an email receipt immediately and a year-end summary in January.
Privacy is non-negotiable. Many "Reels" or photos use silhouettes, change names, or feature women who have safely transitioned and explicitly signed waivers to share their journey. We never show identifiable shelter exterior shots or current room locations to protect active enrollees.
Some smaller or private companies have matching programs not yet in our database. If you can't find yours, contact your HR department for their "Charitable Match Form." We can provide any 501(c)(3) documentation they require to process it manually.
We are 4-star rated by Charity Navigator and undergo a full external audit annually. Our "94% to programs" stat means almost every dollar goes directly to shelter overhead, security, and crisis advocacy. You can view our most recent IRS Form 990 on our Transparency page.
